before her, Kim moved away at the end of the school year -- to Scottsdale,
Arizona. But even if she hadn’t moved, I doubt my crush would have
survived the more profound upheaval taking place in our lives. For
the end of the 6th grade marked our graduation from the quiet safety of
our village elementary school to the dangerous but alluring unknown world
awaiting us at the University Junior Academy.
